Mohave P&Z to Consider 10,000-acre Master Plan Requests
By: Bex Staff, AZBex
The Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission will consider a major plan amendment and several rezoning requests for the Entrata master plan project from Nevada developer Al Barbarich.

The site is located approximately 25 miles south of Hoover Dam and the Nevada border.

Barbarich has been buying land in the area since 2005 and owns the property outright with no debt. The master plan includes manufacturing, other industrial, residential and airport uses, which project representative Kathy Tackett-Hicks of Kingman called “a huge economic revenue enhancer for the county and the region.”

Barbarich said development will occur over multiple decades and could eventually include 75,000 residents and 30,000 homes. The end goal is a self-contained community with economic opportunities and housing options for eventual residents.

Project representatives are working with the Arizona Department of Water Resources to confirm the necessary 100-year water supply. P&Z will consider the Entrata requests in its Oct. 11 meeting, and the Mohave County Board of Supervisors could take up the matter in November or December.
